Standing Height

    5'8" WALL HEIGHT (172cm)

    Standing height across the whole footprint of the tent, which means that you can get dressed standing up and the tent can be fitted with standard height beds and normal household furniture.

  • Standard Bell Tents

    1'11" WALLL HEIGHT (61cm)

    Low wall height means you lose a lot of space & can only stand in the centre of the tent.

Canvas

    QUALITY CANVAS

    Our canvas is 380gsm, with fire proofing, UV protection and water and rot resistant treatments built in, which means the tent will last for years and is very safe to use.

  • Standard Bell Tents

    STANDARD CANVAS

    Most basic bell tents use a lightweight, 240gsm poly/cotton canvas which may only last a few camping trips before it starts to look tired, attracting mould and degrading quickly under UV.

Ground Sheet

    QUALITY GROUND SHEET

    Our ground sheet is a 540gsm heavy duty 'bath tub' PVC which is very durable and will not let in water even if pitched in a water logged filed - this is the same material that boat covers and curtain sided trucks are made from - it is extremely strong and completely waterproof. We use velcro to attached the groundsheet to our tents for easy removal for cleaning and storage and it is easily patchable.

  • Standard Bell Tents

    STANDARD GROUND SHEET

    Bell tents have 300gsm flat PVC groundsheets which are either pegged, zipped or sewn into the walls for the tent. With the peg in groundsheet tents, water can seep into around the edged. With sewn in groundsheets you cannot remove them, which means it is difficult to pack away and tough to dry out after a rainy trip. And with zipper ground sheets, if the zip snags or breaks, then you need to replace the whole zip.

Center Poles

    REINFORCED CENTER POLES

    Our Lotus Belle tents come with either wooden or aluminium center poles. The wooden center poles feature reinforced aluminium couplers for extra rigidity and support. Our larger tents — the 6m, Mahal and Melas — come with brushed aluminium center poles to handle the additional weight of the canvas. Optional aluminium poles are available separately for our 4m and 5m tents, ideal for strong wind or snowy climates.

  • Standard Bell Tents

    CHEAP CENTER POLES

    Cheaper alternatives sacrifice durability or have thicker poles that eat into your living space and obstruct your view. They also don't have the same luxury look or long lasting lifecycle. Without the reinforced coupling they break under conditions like moderate winds or heavy rain.
